Homemade Olive Tapenade

Olive Tapenade is a very impressive and simple spread to make. If you make it yourself, it can be tailored to your personal preferences. All you need is a food processor and your chosen ingredients.

- 2 cups of olives (Kalamata olives are my favorite!)

- 3 sun dried tomatoes, soaked in olive oil

- 1/4 of a shallot

- 1 clove of garlic

Just pulse in a food processor until you reach your desired consistency!

Accessorize With Polka Dots

Growing up, polka dots were always my grandmother’s favorite pattern. Well, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree as it is my own favorite pattern as well. I am beyond ecstatic that polka dots are very IN this season :) .

Here are some of my favorite polka dot accessories. I actually just purchased the polka dot Mary Janes from forever 21 (#3) a few days ago and I LOVE them. They look way better in person!

San Francisco Trip

One of my best friends is interviewing at different dental schools and we decided to make a mini-vacation out of her interviews that are in fun cities. So last week, my girlfriends and I took a trip to San Francisco to support her and we’re also going to Las Vegas in a few weeks (YAY).

We ate way too much food, drank just the right amount and practically walked the entire city. It was a great trip and I hope Vegas is just as fun!

Here are some photos from our trip:

Holiday Spirit

For most people the holidays are long gone, but my family celebrates a little differently. We celebrate Christmas TWICE a year. Unfortunately that doesn’t mean twice the gifts, but it does definitely mean twice the holiday cheer :) . In addition to celebrating on December 25th, we also celebrate Armenian Christmas on January 6th. So since I’m still in the holiday spirit, I posted some pictures from my favorite family Christmas decor: the backyard trellis that is decorated with beaded snowflake ornaments that are hung with fish wire and our candelabra that is decorated with  glass ornaments and my favorite garland.

The Glass Market

Yesterday was the first day that SBE’s new restaurant, Mercato di Vetro (translates to The Glass Market in Italian) was open to the public. I went for dinner and it was AMAZING. The restaurant is two stories, with the second floor over looking the first. Like all of SBE’s venues, it is gorgeous and the food is delicious.

I usually find Italian food to be boring, but Mercato di Vetro offers some unexpected, but very welcome flavor surprises. Here are some snapshots of the yummy food.

Daily Dose of YUM

About two years ago, a friend and I went on a little photo adventure throughout Downtown Los Angeles, and next to the restaurant Church and State we stumbled upon the most beautiful alley. It was brick lined and covered in ivy. During the rest of our outing, we were envisioning the perfect little cafe for that perfect alley. Little did we know that there was already a cafe in the works for the alley that opened shop recently. It’s called the Daily Dose and I stumbled upon it again a few months ago after dining at Church and State. Since then, I have been there about 5 times and cant get enough. They serve Intelligentsia coffee, their food is delicious and the owner Sarkis is always there to welcome visitors with a smile.
